About Fullmetal Alchemist
Fullmetal Alchemist, created by Hiromu Arakawa, is one the most popular shonen series ever made. And for good reason; it's a compelling story about two brothers, Edward and
Alphonse Elric, who are trying to regain their original bodies after disobeying the laws of alchemy. If you haven't heard of this series I suggest heading over to
its manga review.
Some things I've noticed from the online anime community is that whenever Fullmetal Alchemist is in discussion it is
typically regarding its anime series and not the manga. I've seen both and out of the two I prefer the manga. For some reason the anime series felt too happy, and when there were sad parts it
tried to push it too much onto the viewers. That might not make the most sense, but that's the best way I can explain it. However, the manga series is nice and dark from the get go and
takes us on one thrilling ride; something you hardly ever see in a shonen series.

Fullmetal Alchemist has been licensed by Viz Media and is
one of the premier manga series to own. The story and characters really shine in this series; more so than any other shonen series I can think of. Shonen series are typically people fighting in a tournament but Fullmetal Alchemist actually has a good story.
Also because it is a shonen series it is very accessible, especially to those who aren't really anime/manga fans, so you can let your friends read this great series.
I'll let you in on a little secret. When I'm looking for series to host on this site I look for obviously the best and most intriguing series first, and I look at what sells (not in the literal meaning
since I'm not actually selling anything here; more like what viewers are looking for in a series). It's hard to find the right mix because there are exceptionally great series like
Berserk that don't exactly sell well with lots of people (maybe it's the killing and the raping, who knows right?) Then there are series like
Fullmetal Alchemist that just come off very well. It has the right mix off action, humor, and deep story that isn't too over the top. So when I was deciding on what series to host Fullmetal
Alchemist was very easy to decide on. The same should go if you're looking for a great series to purchase.

Manga Scan Information
The manga scans you will find on this site are ones created by fans. They are not scanned versions of the licensed English versions. On the topic of licensed manga series, I do host licensed series unlike many sites that take down manga scans when they get licensed. I feel that showcasing the series actually helps in sales. I usually do not host entire series (usually just the beginning or latter volumes) so people tend to purchase the actual graphic novels when they find out how good they are. As for the fansubbed manga scans, they are created by manga scanlation groups. You can get a full list of groups over at Manga Updates. These groups create these fansubs for the fans - I simply distribute them online. Within each series you will certainly see information pertaining to the groups that created the manga scans. Please support the groups by visiting their web site or mIRC channel.
