Because he helped us make lunch.""How did you manage to sneak your way around that?" Yahiko grumbled."Megumi dragged me in there," Sano replied with a nonchalant shrug."He was a great help, Yahiko-chan," Kaoru hinted as she reentered the room. "You could learn a thing or two by taking a leaf out of his book.""Wait, were you cooking too?" Enishi asked suspiciously. Kaoru rose and blinked at him in surprise.

"Of course!" Enishi's eyes widened. "What, you expect me to sit on my hands when I have at least five guests to cook for?""You said you didn't make it!""I you asked me if I made the sashimi, and I told you of course not!" Kaoru replied. "I couldn't make sashimi if my life depended on it. I left that to Misao.""What did you make?" Enishi asked suspiciously."She made the beancakes," Megumi replied, picking up as many dishes as she could carry in one hand and Sano's ear in the other.Enishi turned to Iida quickly. "Iida," he began."They were good!" Iida replied with a grin. "There's still some left.""No thanks, Iida," Enishi replied hastily. "Why don't you go back to the Akabeko with Tsubame. I have to talk to Himura for a little while."

"Okay," the boy chirped. He gave Enishi a quick hug from behind, the went to Tsubame's side and took her hand. "I'll walk you back to the Akabeko, Tsubame! And I'll protect you from nasty monsters and gangsters, too!""Thank you, Iida-kun!" Tsubame replied with a smile. "I don't know what I would do without you!"

The two men with light hair and eyes watched the two kids head down the street. Iida was smiling up at Tsubame and swinging her hand. She laughed and he took a bite of beancake. Their innocent laughter drifted to their ears. Slowly they turned and met the other's eyes.
